The Economy and how can relate to DUI Arrests

In an article that appeared in NEWSWEEK – November, 3 2008 issue authored by Eve Conant titled “Vice: The Recession-Proof Bet”

The article begins.. It’s 8:30 P.M. THE STOCK market is down 700 points, and Rick’s Cabaret in Manhatten is packed and drinks are flowing…. The article is about how stocks of cigarettes, alcohol and the Casino industry are going up in this depression like economy as people need a stress relief and will always smoke, drink and splurge on “vices” even in hard times. The article ends with a comment from a bar owner… At Rick’s, were happy hours have been extended, the current mantra is affordability and escape. “Just Look”  say’s one customer, a tax accountant, surveying a packed room. “I don’t see any reccession here.”

To sum up the article there are more possibilities of getting into a DUI/DWI situation even during this bad economy. Election is just a few days away and there will be excited and jubilant winner parties and gatherings as well as depressed and sad loser gatherings.
